Folks, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but I’m just going
to come right out and say it:

We came up short of our July Fundraising Goal last night.

Not by a lot, mind you, but in a race this close — and with stakes this
high — every single dollar we don’t raise is potentially a door that isn’t
knocked on or a phone call that isn’t made to a voter.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, because this grassroots
team has never backed away from a challenge. Plus, if we can generate a
big fundraising push over the next couple days, we can make up the
difference and get back on track.
