Folks, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but I’m just going to come right out and say it:

We came up short of our July Fundraising Goal last night.

Not by a lot, mind you, but in a race this close — and with stakes this high — every single dollar we don’t raise is potentially a door that isn’t knocked on or a phone call that isn’t made to a voter.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, because this grassroots team has never backed away from a challenge. Plus, if we can generate a big fundraising push over the next couple days, we can make up the difference and get back on track.

I’d love to tell Angela that you’re ready to step up and chip in today. Will you pitch in a grassroots donation before closing this email to get August started on the right foot so we can get back in the swing of things before the weekend?
