Be an Election Officer during this historic presidential election [[link removed]]! Fairfax County is the largest jurisdiction in Virginia with 265 precincts countywide. It takes thousands of enthusiastic and trained election officers to help ensure that we have efficient and well-run elections. The Office of Elections needs your help this year – please consider applying today [[link removed]]!
* NOTE: The process of becoming an election officer, the pay rate, and other matters change election-by-election. The instructions provided in the above video may not accurately reflect current procedures, practices, or pay rates.
Project 2025 brochure [[link removed]]. The chair of the King George Democrats [[link removed]], Katy Evans, put together a brochure [[link removed]] on the horrors of the beyond-reactionary Heritage Foundation's Project 2025. We think her graphic design is pretty darn powerful and would look great on Democratic tables at local farmer's markets.
Virginia’s Sales Tax Holiday is this Friday through Sunday, August 2-4 [[link removed]]. During the sales tax holiday, you can buy qualifying school supplies, clothing, and footwear [[link removed]]; hurricane and emergency preparedness items [[link removed]]; and Energy Star™ and WaterSense™ products [[link removed]] without paying sales tax.
Foster Kids Summer School Supply Drive [[link removed]]. We are more than 98% towards our goal of $31,000 in direct monetary donations and supplies bought through the Amazon store. We are keeping the drive going for another day or two but the Amazon store is closed for the year. Unused funds and supplies will be donated to the Department of Family Services to help with emergencies throughout the year.
We so much appreciate the generosity of all who made this a success. Thank you!
We especially thank Gerry Connolly and the other Fairfax County elected officials who helped promote the 2024 Foster Kids School Supply Drive.
One more thing: Please volunteer to help Marguerite manage this project by signing up here: Summer 2024 School Supply Drive Volunteers SignUpGenius [[link removed]]. She especially needs help assembling the backpacks this weekend and then transporting the stuffed backpacks to the Pennino Building on Monday.

The Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) is the largest local affiliate of the Democratic Party in Virginia. Accounting for 1 in 5 votes for statewide Democratic candidates, Fairfax County is vital to keeping the Commonwealth blue and moving progressive policies forward. FCDC is at the center of the action, made up of over 1000 community leaders and activists working year-round to educate voters, advocate for issues, and get Democrats up and down the ballot elected.
