Dear Free Software Supporter,
We are very happy to announce that we surpassed our [spring goal][1]! It is
wonderful to welcome **207** new members to our community, and it's all
thanks to you! We can't help but feel inspired by how supportive our
community is, and how free software supporters like you are the reason we
continuously find new energy and reason for advocating for free software.
Thank you as well to those of you who were able and willing to donate funds
beyond your membership dues - it helps us immensely in our fight for user
freedom!

Now that the membership drive has officially come to a close,
we'd like to revisit some of the things we did during the past
month. We kick-started our appeal by announcing the FSF has
[three new board members][2] and explaining the advocacy work that
the [campaigns team does][3]. We reported on what the [licensing
team has been up to][4] the past few months, created a [guide on
introducing people][5] to free software, and put our spring [*Bulletin*][6]
online for everyone to read and share. Finally, we wrapped up the
month of July with a [pledge to introduce friends][7] to free software,
a commentary on the [CrowdStrike][8] events, and an overview
on what the [tech team has been working on][9]. If you missed any
of our [publications][10], be sure to give them a read!

We have a lot of opportunities to learn more and get involved in the movement
coming up, so keep your eye out for future announcements! A few things
that you can look forward to before the end of 2024:
* five more issues of the *Free Software Supporter* (including the August
edition tomorrow!);
* issue 45 of the *Free Software Foundation Bulletin*;
* articles on pressing issues in user freedom and technology (including AI);
* FSF turning 41;
* and more!
We are very excited to see what the second half of 2024 brings, and hope
you are, too.
Thank you for believing in us, and for supporting computer user freedom!
