Our national debt - now growing by $8 billion every single day - is set
to pass the $35 trillion mark in a matter of days. Interest payments
alone now exceed defense spending.
Meanwhile, this out-of-control Biden-Democrat spending is breaking
family budgets.
Inflation is driving the cost of everything we consume through the roof.
This fiscal insanity MUST BE STOPPED and Mike is taking action to do
just that!
Mike and Senator Rick Scott of Florida have introduced three bills to
address this crisis. They’re fighting to restore fiscal sanity in
Washington - and Mike will be relentless in the fight to keep spending
in line as our next governor.
Here’s a quick rundown:
The Fiscal State of the Nation Act will require our nation’s Comptroller
General to provide lawmakers with current, nonpartisan data on our
federal government’s fiscal health to help them make fiscally
responsible decisions.
The Improper Payments Transparency Act will increase reporting
requirements to ensure lawmakers have comprehensive data on improper
payments made by our federal government - $236 billion in such payments
was reported for FY 2023 and we know this does not represent the full
scale of the problem.
The Debt-to-GDP Transparency and Stabilization Act will require the
president’s annual budget to include the debt-to-GDP ratio, providing
context for the size of debt relative to our total economic output and
our ability to pay it back.
This is the type of bold and unwavering leadership we need to rein in
the spending spree.
