Supporting children should not be a political issue

John,

The last few weeks have been some of the most tumultuous in recent American political history – including an attempted assassination on President Trump, President Biden putting an end to his bid for reelection and endorsing Vice President Harris – all driving historic fundraising.

In theory, this shouldn’t affect our work. Supporting kids should never be a political issue. We'll continue to be there for kids no matter who wins this election, and we will continue to work with legislators on both sides of the aisle to make brighter futures possible for children around the world.

But the truth is, as more attention – and supporters’ generosity – is focused on political campaigns, we see a significant slowdown in fundraising for children. It’s already happening, and it will only get tougher as Election Day draws closer.

At the same time, children need our help more than ever. Compounding crises like hunger, poverty and the climate crisis aren’t going anywhere, and we cannot wait until after the election to address them. We’re asking for your support now to ensure we can continue our essential work for children around the world.

Right now, our teams across rural America are working to ensure all kids in our country get a healthy start in life and start school with the tools they need to succeed. Plus, we’re in countries supporting children and families facing life-threatening violence. We’re working to build resilience in communities most threatened by the climate crisis.

This work – and more – is only possible because of supporters like you, which is why we cannot afford to sit back as the election heats up and our fundraising slows. That’s why I’m personally asking, John:

Will you donate $30 now to ensure we’re able to continue our vital work for children around the world?

Thank you for all you do to help children create the bright futures they deserve.
