The last few weeks have been some of the most tumultuous in recent American political history – including an attempted assassination of President Trump, President Biden putting an end to his bid for reelection and endorsing Vice President Harris – all driving historic fundraising.
In theory, this shouldn’t affect our work. We'll continue to be there for kids no matter who wins this election, and we will continue to work with legislators on both sides of the aisle to make brighter futures possible for children around the world.
But the truth is, as more attention – and supporters’ generosity – is focused on political campaigns, we see a significant slowdown in fundraising for children. It’s already happening, and it will only get tougher as Election Day draws closer.
Right now, our teams across rural America are working to ensure all kids in our country get a healthy start in life and start school with the tools they need to succeed. Plus, we’re in countries supporting children and families facing life-threatening violence. We’re working to build resilience in communities most threatened by the climate crisis.
This work – and more – is only possible because of supporters like you, which is why we cannot afford to sit back as the election heats up and our fundraising slows. That’s why I’m personally asking, John:
