Other news this week:

A time of sharing: As people receive their COVID-19 relief checks, some
who are in a position to do so have been passing those funds along to
other people or causes. On social media, the hashtag #sharemycheck has
these stories. CCL's Madeleine Para posted on Twitter

about her decision to share her check.

Chapters: Book club connects volunteers

With the current pandemic putting people in lockdown, the Climate Book
Club has become a way that volunteers in Dallas are staying connected to
one another. The book club, started last year by CCL member Melissa
Ahmed, met at a local cafe and bookstore. As social distancing became
the norm, the club moved to Zoom meetings to discuss the books they're
reading. "This is an ideal time for our members to curl up with a book
at home," Melissa says. You can learn more about the book club and how
to join their next meeting in this Community post

CCL volunteers are regularly activating the " five levers

" of political will in their communities. Even if you're not planning to
start a book club, there's a lot you can do to develop your chapter and
keep folks excited to work on climate. Watch or read our training on
"Keeping Volunteers Engaged."

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst: Our mortality is something
we'd prefer to not dwell on, but the COVID-19 crisis is causing many of
us to think about getting our affairs in order. CCL's Development
Director Lynate Pettengill, pictured above with her son and
daughter-in-law, recently did exactly that. Now CCL is partnering with
FreeWill so you can create an advance health directive, power of
attorney and/or a will free of charge. Read more
