John, at the start of the Republican National Convention, we asked you if you approved of NRA-backed politicians. But now that those candidates have taken the stage and the convention is over, I thought it was important that we follow up.

Just days after a gunman armed with an AR-15 attempted to assassinate Donald Trump, the NRA's endorsed politicians still refuse to do the right thing and add their voices to call for common-sense, life-saving gun safety reforms that could have prevented last Saturday's shooting.

Instead, politicians like J.D. Vance continued to peddle extreme pro-gun rhetoric. In his speech at the RNC, Vance told a story of discovering 19 loaded guns his Mamaw kept stashed around the house — John, this story isn’t quaint, and it isn’t about the “American Spirit.”

We know what happens when loaded weapons are left unsecured around the house: Accidental deaths. Suicides. School shootings. Suggesting otherwise is downright dangerous.

This week reinforced what I already know to be true: That we must get the gun lobby OUT of Washington if we are to win meaningful change and finally end the gun violence epidemic.

But I want to make sure you have another chance to make your voice heard, John. We're running this follow-up live poll until midnight tonight, and in this critical moment, we need to hear from you. So, please, tell us:

Do you approve of NRA-backed politicians?

Thank you for taking action with us, John.

Subject: Day 2 of the RNC

John, today is the second day of the Republican National Convention, and the NRA's hold over the Republican party has never been more on display.

From the rules banning tennis balls and water bottles from the convention but not assault rifles to the sheer volume of Republican candidates who are backed by the NRA, it's clear that no matter what happens this week, the gun lobby is the real winner. That's why we want to know what you think, John: Do you approve of NRA-backed politicians?

This is something we must pay attention to because with the White House and both chambers of Congress up for grabs this year, the stakes have never been higher.

And now, Donald Trump has selected NRA-endorsed J.D. Vance as his vice president pick. Vance opposes assault weapons bans and supports pro-gun judges.

We know what side we’re on — we believe it's long past time to get the NRA and the gun lobby OUT of politics and win true gun safety leadership for America so we can finally enact the common-sense legislation that we KNOW will save lives.

But now, we need to hear from you, John. We're running this live poll until midnight tonight, and we need to hear from 100 supporters in your area in order for it to reach statistical significance. So please, tell us:

Do you approve of NRA-backed politicians?

Thank you for using your voice and being part of this movement,

Team Brady
