Fossil fuel extraction is pushing our planet to the brink,
John.
But it's not too late to take action:
[ [link removed] ]Make
a Giving Day contribution now and help launch our REPower
Afrika campaign to take the power out of the hands of fossil fuel
companies and place it into the hands of communities impacted by the
climate crisis. Every donation before 11:59 p.m. will be TRIPLE matched.
[ [link removed] ]TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT
With an abundance of renewable energy resources that can meet the
continent's energy needs, Africa has an incredible opportunity to
transition to an equitable renewable energy system, and lead the world
down a long-term and sustainable energy path.
But here's the thing: It's not as simple as installing a solar panel — in
some places, there is no energy grid, which means we will also have to
provide battery systems for 24/7 energy access.
Africa also requires significant funding from financial institutions and
the developed world to fund a just transition to renewable energy, and
world leaders and financial institutions are too busy greenlighting
destructive fossil fuel projects and propping up Big Oil.
That's where you — and this amazing climate movement you're a part of —
come in, John.
[ [link removed] ]If only 11 people from Philadelphia pitch in this Giving Day, we
can stop breaking records for extreme-heat and start breaking records for
renewable energy installation led by communities. Rush your
donation
before midnight and your impact for the planet will go THREE times as far.
Thank you for chipping in. Your support in this moment means less extreme
heat for future generations. And that's something to be extremely proud
of.
In solidarity,
Jeff Ordower
