Breaking Update: Stop a Dangerous Carbon Bomb
[link removed]
Yesterday, a Trump-appointed judge ruled to block the Biden administration's pause on liquefied methane gas (LNG) approvals. This follows last week's decision by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to permit a large gas export terminal, CP2 LNG, that would have the equivalent emissions of 46 coal-fired power plants. But our fight won't stop. The Department of Energy still has the authority—and obligation—to review the impacts of these dangerous projects that we know are not in the public interest. These decisions make it even more critical that the administration keep at their work to ensure these facilities get adequate review.
Act now to make sure the Biden admin stays on course!

Protect the Energy Efficiency Standards That Save Us Money!
[link removed]
This past spring, the federal government adopted a slew of new energy-saving measures for household appliances and newly built homes. These new building codes and standards will save homeowners and renters alike hundreds of dollars on utility bills and other energy costs. But the gas industry, the National Association of Home Builders, and other lobby groups have identified these energy efficiency regulations as their top target to dismantle.
Tell Congress to ignore these big money lobbyists and protect the energy-saving measures that benefit our climate and our pocketbooks.

Climate Wake-Up Call: Business as Usual Is Not Good Enough
[link removed]
Hurricane Beryl, the earliest category five hurricane on record, has left a path of destruction across the Caribbean, Texas, and the East Coast. The storm left millions of families in Texas without power again, displacing communities and costing at least $1 billions in damages. These unnaturally strong storms are a stark reminder of the urgent need to act on climate change. We can create a different future, and prevent storms from getting stronger and more deadly each year.
Urge President Biden to do everything he can to end fossil fuel expansion, transition to a clean energy economy, and prioritize justice and people over corporate profits!

You Can Help Shut Down 15 More Coal Plants in 2024
[link removed]
Coal poisons every part of our environment – the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the soil we grow our food in. There are still 146 coal plants remaining across the US – each of them still spewing toxic pollution into our atmosphere. The Sierra Club's Beyond Coal campaign has an ambitious goal to shut down every last dirty coal plant in the country – and to get there, we need to retire 15 more coal plants before the end of this year.
Step up and make a gift today to help us power this work and shut down more dangerous, polluting coal plants in 2024.
