At first glance, Donald Trump’s pick for vice president—Ohio Senator J.D. Vance—and my opponent, Texas Representative John Carter, might seem to have little in common.
J.D. Vance is a millennial, a first-time elected official, and a junior by any account. John Carter is on the other end of the spectrum—an octogenarian and 11-time incumbent, and a stalwart of the Republican vanguard in Congress.
But looks can be deceiving...
These two men are cut from the same cloth, and both are a danger to our republic.
- **J.D. Vance has called for a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions. John Carter co-sponsored the bill to do exactly that.**
- **J.D. Vance wants to gut Social Security and Medicare. John Carter has voted to do so.**
- **J.D. Vance says that he wouldn’t have certified the 2020 presidential election on January 6. John Carter voted against certification.**
J.D. Vance and my opponent, John Carter, are in lockstep with Donald Trump. **None** of these men should hold federal office next year.
