Arkansas election board delivers loss for voters
* Arkansas' election board approved ([link removed]) a rule to permanently prohibit electronic signatures for voter registration forms, effectively eliminating online registration. A state legislative committee will decide whether to implement the rule.
* A nonprofit voting rights organization has sued ([link removed]) Arkansas over this policy — which is currently in effect until Sept. 1 as a temporary, emergency rule — noting that voter registration significantly increased when an online tool was available to voters.

AOC’s impeachment case will fail — here’s why it still matters
* Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-N.Y.) effort to impeach ([link removed]) Supreme Court justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito is unlikely to succeed, but the case highlights mounting concerns about the high court's lack of accountability and binding ethical standards.
Trump campaign and RNC have filed three lawsuits since May
* The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) are targeting voting practices in swing states ahead of the 2024 election.
* They've filed two lawsuits in Nevada to reject certain mail-in ballots — one in May ([link removed]) and one in June ([link removed]) — and a lawsuit yesterday ([link removed]) in Michigan to shut down voter registration sites.

Voting lawsuits have been brought in seven states this month
* So far in July, Democracy Docket has started tracking new election lawsuits in Texas, Nevada, Louisiana, Montana, Arizona and Pennsylvania. Learn about the cases here. ([link removed])
