Arkansas election board delivers loss for voters

  • Arkansas' election board approved a rule to permanently prohibit electronic signatures for voter registration forms, effectively eliminating online registration. A state legislative committee will decide whether to implement the rule.


  • A nonprofit voting rights organization has sued Arkansas over this policy — which is currently in effect until Sept. 1 as a temporary, emergency rule — noting that voter registration significantly increased when an online tool was available to voters.

Voting lawsuits have been brought in seven states this month
