"We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will
remain bloodless if the left allows it to be."^1
Those were the words from Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts—the
leader of the organization overseeing Project 2025, the extreme far-right
blueprint for a second Trump presidency.
They're not even hiding it—the MAGA right is declaring war, and Project
2025 is the battle and takeover plan.
We are already seeing Project 2025 in action, and there is no question
that Donald Trump is on board. Not only is the group behind the plan
filled with close Trump allies—including former Trump staffers Stephen
Miller and Russ Vought—Trump has already endorsed and is campaigning on
many of Project 2025's policies, such as using the Justice Department to
prosecute political opponents.^2
The wheels are already in motion on Project 2025, which threatens our
rights and freedoms, attacks communities of color, would hurt middle- and
working-class families, and undermines our democracy, and the MAGA Supreme
Court majority has paved the way for Trump to commit untold crimes against
our democracy. The far right is threatening violence—but we will not back
down, and we will not sit by as Trump steamrolls over our nation.
MoveOn will not stop until we have defeated Project 2025 and Donald Trump.

Trump sycophant Senator Marco Rubio spent the week trying to distance
Trump from Project 2025 and minimize the plan, calling it "think tank
stuff."^3
Well, we've heard it straight from the horse's mouth: Project 2025 is
deadly serious.^4
Project 2025 is fascism, full stop, and Trump is the perfect candidate to
see the plan through. One of the tenets of fascism is weaponizing the
police and military against political opponents, and this past weekend,
Trump posted on his Truth Social that he wants to use a military tribunal
not only to incarcerate former Congresswoman Liz Cheney, but also to
imprison President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senators Mitch
McConnell and Chuck Schumer, former Vice President Mike Pence, and more.^5
Another tenet is controlling the media, and Project 2025 plans to pull
funding from PBS and NPR.^6 But we are already seeing corporate media
bowing to MAGA control and failing to warn the public of the Heritage
Foundation president's words on every front page.
Project 2025 also gives Trump a takeover plan to run roughshod over the
Constitution, deporting millions of immigrants, outlawing reproductive
care, turning LGBTQ+ people into second-class citizens, and more. It plans
for a "unitary executive"—in other words, a dictator.^7

A Trump presidency is not a given—the people still have power.
Just last week, the media covering the elections in France and England
counted the people out. Every prediction was that France faced a far-right
takeover, and concerns were running high in England as well.^8 But the
people said NO.
Both nations saw a surge of progressive voters at the polls that stopped
the far right. England saw the Labour Party take power for the first time
in 14 years, and an unforeseen number of voters stopped Trumplike Marine
Le Pen from instituting fascism in France.^9
John, we can do the same in the United States, if we all
decide to come together.
This election isn't about Trump's dark and fascist speeches or President
Biden's age—it's about the vision for America after November. We can
change the narrative from the spectacle to the MAGA platform and critical
information about far-right Project 2025, and let people know what happens
once Trump's MAGA government is in power.
To do just that, we are building a cadre of social media influencers, and
we are highlighting MoveOn members' personal stories. We are relaunching
our Real Voter Voices project, which in 2018 used testimonials from
ordinary Americans to reach tens of thousands of voters, which helped
achieve a blue wave and take back the House of Representatives. This year,
we are collecting thousands of testimonial videos from MoveOn members
speaking authentically about the stakes of the 2024 election and our civil
rights, why they are voting, and the candidates they are supporting. So
we're planning to flood the digital airwaves with members,
micro-influencers, and MoveOn's own accounts.
The personal connections our election plan build—whether it's through
followers of social media influencers, MoveOn members telling their
individual stories, or facilitating the ability of voters to easily reach
out and talk to would-be voters who need a little push to get to the
polls—are the key to defeating MAGA and Trump in November. But this is
expensive and painstaking work, and we are a grassroots organization that
depends on support from our members.
