Hi,
With most of us stuck at home away from our friends, family and loved ones, there is no doubt that being in lockdown is difficult. I wanted to reassure you that everyone at Greenpeace is with you in spirit and you are far from alone.
Through these unprecedented times your unwavering support has been, and will continue to be, crucial in continuing to secure a safer, greener, more peaceful world. Like everyone else, we have had to adapt to one of the most challenging moments in recent history but we are still here campaigning for the necessary changes our world needs. The bottom line is, you make all of this possible and we couldn't do it without you. Thank you for standing with us. Together we are Greenpeace.
It's been inspiring to see the different ways people have been adjusting to the situation and it's truly heartening to see communities pull together to support our front line workers and protect those most in need.
Despite all of this, the situation we find ourselves in can bring low moments which can be hard to deal with. It's vital we keep our spirits up and take moments for ourselves to get away from it all, so we wanted to share with you the 5 things that we have been enjoying this week to try and help.

Many of us will be spending a lot more time at home - even if we might not have much more time than before. Here's a collection of 30 crowdsourced tips from Greenpeace staff and supporters to get us all feeling inspired to use our time at home for some simple and clever home spring greening.
Still speaking out for climate action : [link removed]
We're living through one of the most challenging moments in recent global history and with the likes of the airline industry ([link removed]) first in the queue to ask for a government bailout, now is the time for ingenuity like we've never seen before to create a recovery plan that prioritises people and planet. Not being able to take action physically just means using digital and the online spaces to shape the future is more important than ever. Be sure to check out our latest Youtube video on the power of hashtags and petitions.
Over 115,000 have already joined us in calling on the UK government to rebuild our society on fairer, safer, cleaner, more resilient foundations. Join us in demanding a better, fairer future and sign the petition: [link removed].
8 films to watch while you are self-isolating: [link removed]
The self-isolation that many of us are practicing might find us all looking at a screen a bit more than usual. But trust us, these films are well worth the extra screen time. If you're looking for ways to learn more about the environment, here are just a few suggestions of the films we are watching. In addition to being incredible stories with beautiful visuals, you can learn more about our amazing world and why it's so important to continue fighting for a just and safe future for all.
An ecology reading list for environmentalists: [link removed]
There are over a million ecology books in print, and sorting through them might be a challenge for the biggest of book worms. But never fear, we have sorted through them and compiled an essential ecology reading list, including some of the classics of the field. Take a look and dive head first into a new book!
These are just some of the things we have been enjoying and we hope you can find some enjoyment in them too!
We've loved hearing stories of how people are supporting each other and it's so important we all stay connected in this time. With that in mind we'd love to hear what initiatives you've seen or tried that are working for you. Please share with us your recommendations by heading to our Facebook and Twitter pages and leaving a comment. Or if you prefer you can call us on 0330 335 3632 Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm, or chat to us live our website. And if you have any questions for us you can email my team at
[email protected]. In the nature of community spirit, we'll share the things you're enjoying and probably try some of them ourselves!
Remember, together we are Greenpeace and we can and will achieve many more amazing things.
Be safe and be well.
