The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a lifeline for nearly one million Dreamers -- undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children. Over the last 12 years, these Dreamers have planted their roots in the only home they know, and we rely on them every day. As our doctors, attorneys, teachers, neighbors, and friends, we need Dreamers just as much as they need us.

But the lives they have worked relentlessly to build for more than a decade could be jeopardized at any moment. Without permanent legislation from Congress, Dreamers have an undetermined fate. As part of our ongoing advocacy efforts, this month, the Forum brought together a group of business leaders, who are part of our **Corporate Roundtable** [link removed], and students and staff from four universities, to meet with House and Senate members to call on them to safeguard Dreamers. The meetings went well and gave me hope as to what is possible.

Without Dreamers like Jesus, who works hard to save lives as a paramedic, the healthcare industry alone would lose $32 billion dollars.
