This month marked the twelfth anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The DACA program is personally important to me because it was established to provide protection to some immigrants brought to the country as children - as I was brought here from Costa Rica when I was four years old. DACA protects Dreamers from deportation but the path to permanent residency has remained uncertain. In September 2023, **U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen of Texas issued a ruling** [link removed] that found the Biden Administration's new rule on DACA unlawful. This has left recipients with the possibility of losing their protection.

This month, the Forum brought a group of business and student leaders to D.C. to advocate for legislative solutions for Dreamers on Capitol Hill - but the work is far from over.
