Do assault weapons designed to kill people on battlefields really need to
be even more lethal? No, no, NO!
Even the NRA agreed bump stocks, a device that can be connected to a gun
to initiate a continuous firing cycle with a single pull of the trigger,

In a 6-3 decision, the conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court has
just struck down a critically important federal ban on bump stocks on the
grounds that it’s up to Congress to mandate such bans. [ [link removed] ] Bump stocks are
devices that can be connected to guns to enable them to fire 400-800
bullets a minute, effectively turning them into machine guns.
These devices must be banned.
In 2017, a man with bump stocks attached to his assault rifles looked down
from an upper story hotel window and shot into the Harvest Music Festival
in Las Vegas, killing 60 people and injuring 400 more in a matter of
minutes. It was the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. [ [link removed] ] It was so
horrible that in the aftermath, the Trump administration banned bump
stocks with NRA support.

With more firearms than people in our country, we are drowning in a sea of
guns. Guns are everywhere. There are currently 25 million assault weapons

communities have lost our safety and lost our freedoms. Gun violence is

By paving the way for assault weapons to be even more lethal, the
conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court has shown us once again
that they prioritize guns over our Constitutional rights to life, liberty
from violence, and the pursuit of happiness absent from fear. In this
instance, Congress has the opportunity to rectify that immediately.
