Hi, John!

What happened in Wisconsin last week was a total mess: the Republican state legislatures and conservative courts forced voters to cast their ballots in person in the middle of a deadly pandemic, refusing to move the primary election or even the postmark date for mail-in ballots.

We can’t let that happen in any other states, not with so much on the line in the November general election.

That’s why it’s absolutely critical that the federal government pass election protections in the next coronavirus bill. Voto Latino has endorsed the use of early vote and vote-by-mail as two ways to encourage and facilitate an increase in Latinx voter participation, but there’s some additional things we need to ensure voting is easy, safe, and accessible for all:

No one should have to risk their health, spend hours waiting in line, or be left behind on Election Day. It’s on our leaders to make sure our democratic elections continue to be free and fair.
