Giona Picheco is a Navy Veteran running for state representative in Rhode Island’s 14th district. Giona managed combat systems on a submarine and returned home from her deployment to find a growing hostility in politics for trans people like herself. Inspired to make a change and deeply rooted in her community, Giona decided to run for office and we applaud her for taking this next step in her service.

Representative Josey Garcia (TX-HD124) is a US Air Force Veteran, mother, and lifelong advocate for children and families with disabilities. As one of only nine lawmakers in the Texas House who are openly LGBTQ+, Josey is on the front lines of the battle for updated, humane legislation that puts the safety and freedom of all families first.
