** Take Action!
------------------------------------------------------------
* Mask making is really taking off. Groups around the state are joining up to make back up masks for medical workers who don't have enough supplies. If you can sew, or cut material, if you have fabric or elastic to donate, or if you just want to learn how to make masks for your own family, consider joining up with one of these groups. (if you know of a NJ group not listed here, email us and we'll include it in next week's newsletter).

** Covid-19 News and Resources
------------------------------------------------------------
* The NJ Covid-19 Information Hub ([link removed]) .

* Find testing available ([link removed]) to you. There is also a symptom checker here.

* There have been some changes made to the Covid-19 Scenarios and Benefits Available ([link removed]) PDF. Look at the PDF in the link above, and then find more information on how to apply for benefits at NJ.Gov/Labor ([link removed])

* The CDC ([link removed]) and the State of New Jersey ([link removed]) are both now asking everyone to wear a mask when in social situations. Social distancing is still in effect, but the mask should be worn for when you have no choice but to go out, such as for food or medications
Here are some resources for how to make your own mask at home including a
basic mask that you can sew ([link removed]) , or if you don't have elastic, a mask with fabric ties ([link removed]) . If you can't sew at all, here's a mask you can make with no sewing ([link removed]) . Material from pillow cases or thick tee shirts are both good for this. Whatever you use, it should be tightly woven (no obvious holes) and washable. Do not touch the mask or your face when out in public and put it in your laundry when you get home, washing your hands immediately after.

* New Jersey is looking for health care professionals who want to volunteer during the Covid 19 crisis. More information and sign up here ([link removed]) .

* In a recent announcement, Governor Murphy announced they are looking for programmers familiar with COBOL. This form is for anyone willing to volunteer with technology ([link removed]) , but COBOL programmers, please make a note of that in the comments. Interested in why this is important? Read this.
