Hello,

I wanted to talk to you today about the lessons we learned from the recently
passed CARES Act—Congress’ response to the COVID-19 crisis—to provide relief to
Americans and industries that have been hit the hardest from the virus so far.

Although we applaud and appreciate the efforts of lawmakers for getting a
solution in place, we are disappointed that this crisis was used by some to
play political games, including partisan and special interest handouts.

As you may know, the “Phase III” bill that was passed included:

* Pet projects that have nothing to do with public health
* Billions of dollars in the form of cronyism and corporate welfare
* Politically motivated policies that will undermine our recovery
* Massive spending that could push our country into another kind of crisis.
To make things worse, these very same lawmakers are working on another bill to
address our country "economic recovery" that will almost certainly sneak in
even more cronyism.

What does that mean exactly? It means that we have a unique opportunity to
stop lawmakers from playing political games in the next bill they are planning
as we speak.

So, we're doing something about it. Will you consider helping us with a
special gift to support our efforts to prevent this from happening again and to
support other grassroots activities that will promote responsible government
and individual liberty?

Our government affairs team needs to reach 100,000 signatures on an open
letter petition that we're currently promoting to ensure that there is enough
representation, and so Congress will pay attention to the message that they
need to stop playing political games during this time of crisis.

The good news is that we're already nearly halfway to this goal.

Would you consider making a special gift to support this effort, promote our
open letter to people who will sign it, and tell Congress to stop playing
political games?

Even a gift of $10 today can present this open letter to 1,000 people or more.
But time is of the essence—discussions are happening, and plans are being
crafted as we speak.

If so, please click this link to give securely online today.

With your support today, I'm confident that we can achieve our goal and force
lawmakers to do the right thing this time.

Your generous donation today will be used to tell leaders in Congress to craft
a bill that:

* Is limited in scope, in that federal solutions do not usurp the role of
local governments, state governments, the private sector or local communities
* Does not run endlessly and make our national debt dramatically worse
* Does not include partisan priorities unrelated to the core intent—which is
to support and protect those who are most vulnerable or affected by the virus
* Does not include special hand-outs or rewards for the well-connected and
special interest lobbyist groups.
We are a non-partisan, grassroots activism organization that operates 144
offices in 35-states across our country. We believe in the virtues of economic
freedom and individual liberty. We mobilize our volunteer grassroots activists
and government affairs teams to apply pressure to lawmakers to defend these
virtues at the community, state or federal levels of government when they are
threatened.

We believe in the power of the American Dream and that it is a worthy cause to
uphold it for Americans today—and for future generations to come.

If you believe that this is a worthy cause, that our leaders in Congress need
to stop using this time as an opportunity to push partisan policy agendas, and
that special interest groups shouldn't benefit from this global health crisis
with taxpayer money, then would you consider giving a gift to support this and
similar grassroots activities, today?

If you say YES—please use this secure link to make your online gift today:
