Although we applaud and appreciate the efforts of lawmakers for getting a solution in place, we are disappointed that this crisis was used by some to play political games, including partisan and special interest handouts. As you may know, the “Phase III” bill that was passed included: - Pet projects that have nothing to do with public health
- Billions of dollars in the form of cronyism and corporate welfare
- Politically motivated policies that will undermine our recovery
- Massive spending that could push our country into another kind of crisis.
To make things worse, these very same lawmakers are working on another bill to address our country "economic recovery" that will almost certainly sneak in even more cronyism. What does that mean exactly? It means that we have a unique opportunity to stop lawmakers from playing political games in the next bill they are planning as we speak.
