Inflation Nation đź’¸
From Walmart to Target, some of America’s biggest stores recently announced
that they’reslashing prices
<[link removed]> on thousands
of items to help ease the pain of inflation.
For example, Target’s price tag for a pack of 16 Huggies baby wipes
<[link removed]>
fell from $1.19 to 99 cents. Not bad when we’re all desperate for some relief,
but the battle against inflation is far from over.
Despite the mumbo-jumbo Democrats try to peddle about corporate greed
<[link removed]>
andshrinkflation
<[link removed]>
, Americans know where to point the finger when it comes to this issue.
Inflation has been up a staggering20%
<[link removed]>
since Biden took office, and it’s trickled into every corner of our lives.
Need a refresher? Here are some of the receipts:
* Grocery prices are up 21%
<[link removed]>
from the start of 2021.
* Energy prices, particularly the cost of electricity, have soared nearly 30%
<[link removed]>
since 2021.
* Home prices are up more than 20%
<[link removed]>
since 2021, crushing the American dream of home ownership, but the rental
market has also seen prices surge nearly30%
<[link removed]>
over the last four years.
There’s no beating around the bush here, folks: Inflation came barreling
toward us like a freight train under the Biden administration. They can try to
explain it away, but polls show most Americans agree on the topic of whether
they’rebetter off
<[link removed]>
today. The answer is a resounding “no,” and it’s easy to see why.
Skyrocketing inflation has put the pressure on most households, and paying
more for everyday necessities like food and housing will undoubtedly be top of
mind at the ballot box.
Americans must carefully consider their quality of life before casting their
votes in the upcoming election. This is much bigger than statistics and
percentages; it’s about the real-life impact on our wallets and families.
When you step into the voting booth, remember this everyday struggle to make
ends meet and the Biden administration’s promises that were more like pipe
dreams.
Your vote is your voice; November 5, 2024, is judgment day.

As Memorial Day Weekend gets underway, I’d like to highlight some of the
fantastic events happening around East Tennessee. There will be plenty of
family-friendly ways to commemorate the holiday, but Tennesseans also
understand that this weekend is about something much bigger than sales and pool
parties.
Thousands of bikers will come together for the 24th Smoky Mountain Thunder
Memorial Ride
<[link removed]>
on Sunday to honor the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our
country. The ride covers 65 miles across five counties to the Veterans Overlook
on top of Clinch Mountain, and there’s no doubt it’ll be a sight to see.
On Monday, Sevier County’s annual Veterans Memorial Day Program
<[link removed]>
will honor the holiday with a somber gathering where all the names of veterans
who have passed away since last Memorial Day will be read aloud.
This is just a glimpse of the events that serve as a poignant reminder of the
true meaning of Memorial Day—a time to honor and remember. I look forward to
making visits across the district to demonstrate my respect and gratitude for
those who fought and died for this country.
