John, it's Hank Johnson.
I'm a seasoned lawyer – I've got 27 years under my belt, serving 12 as a judge on top of that – but one of my most formative experiences was outside of the courtroom.
After graduating from law school, I spent months as a cab driver so I could fund opening my own practice.
What was supposed to be a temporary gig turned into a life-lesson that I take with me to the U.S. House of Representatives every day.
John, I had no idea the impact being a cab driver would have on me, but it altered my perception on every relationship I would go on to have for the rest of my life – and for that I am so grateful. Whether it's with family members or constituents, I will always think back to what I learned in that taxi. Before I share exactly what it was that I learned, could you pitch in to help me defend my seat in Congress? [[link removed]]
RE-ELECT HANK JOHNSON [[link removed]]
As a cab driver, I met so many different kinds of people: laborers, white-collar businessmen, mothers and children, retirees and everyone in between. None of them had any clue that I was a lawyer. To them, I was just the guy taking them from point A to point B.
But with each ride, I got the opportunity to learn about how people from all walks of life interact with the world around them.
And what I learned in that car all those years ago has been foundational to how I translate constituent concerns into Congressional bills that work for us all.
I represent Georgia's 4th Congressional District, one of the most diverse districts in the country. Being able to cast a wide net to address all of my constituents' concerns is a skill I'm proud of having – and I'm proud of the positive impact people-first governance has had over my last two decades in Congress.
Unlike agents of chaos in Congress, like my fellow member of the Georgia Congressional Delegation Marjorie Taylor Greene, I take the job of representing ALL of my constituents seriously – which is why I need your help this year.
John, I truly think we'd be better off with more cab drivers in Congress, but right now, MAGA Republicans are looking for any opportunity to hold onto their slim majority in the House – and that means going after progressives like me. Could you chip in today to support my common-sense agenda and help me defend my seat in Congress? [[link removed]]
