Social Security helps our seniors be able to retire with dignity. And thanks to Medicare, millions of Americans don't have to spend their life savings to get the critical care they need.
Protecting these programs is personal to me, friend. When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, I saw firsthand how, without Medicare, her treatment would've been difficult for our family to afford.
But Ted Cruz wants to change that.
Friend, as Texas' Senator, I won't let that happen. In my time serving in the House, I've continually stood up against these efforts to cut benefits.
And that's exactly what I'll do when I get to the Senate, friend.
I want to see Congress protect Medicare so that seniors can afford assisted living and full-time care when they need it.
I want to keep these programs solvent, not just for today's seniors, but for generations to come.
