We are well on our way to recovery.

Friend,

During his daily update today, Governor Holcomb outlined the steps he’s taking
to ensure Indiana’s economic recovery is swift and that Hoosiers can quickly
return to work.

We’re not out of the woods yet. Governor Holcomb reminded us today, we’re just
at the front end of a COVID-19 surge. We need tostay hunkered down and keep
practicing social distancing so we can continue to slow the spread and flatten
the curve.

However, we will get through this. And we’ll get through it together.

Indiana is receiving disaster recovery funds from three federal relief
packages. Here’s how the state is using these funds to accelerate the Hoosier
recovery:

Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act:

* Indiana will receive approximately $10.6 million.
* Primary focus is public health and emergency preparedness, including
personal protective equipment.

Families First Coronavirus Response Act:

* Focused mainly on helping individuals.
* Eases guidelines for food programs such as Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program (SNAP).
* Expanded individual eligibility for unemployment insurance.
* Provided for emergency sick and family medical leave for those impacted by
COVID-19.

Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

* Indiana will receive over $3 billion from CARES Act.
* $250 million will bolster existing programs, including:
* Funds for unemployment insurance relief.
* Emergency food and WIC programs.
* Block grants for community development and housing assistance.
* CARES Act Education Stabilization Fund: $500 million.
* CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund: $2.4 billion

The governor also announced today the creation of Indiana’s Economic Relief &
Recovery team to administer these federal recovery programs. This team will
work hard to plan, administer and account for all Indiana relief funds –making
sure they’re getting to Hoosiers who need help.

Governor Holcomb is taking these actions now so we can guide Indiana’s return
to full economic activity in a safe way, preparing to adapt operations in a
post-COVID-19 Indiana.

Fitting for this Easter weekend, the governor said “The world will wake up
again. We will rise again.” And we’re well on our way.
