Friend, During his daily update today, Governor Holcomb outlined the steps he’s taking to ensure Indiana’s economic recovery is swift and that Hoosiers can quickly return to work. We’re not out of the woods yet. Governor Holcomb reminded us today, we’re just at the front end of a COVID-19 surge. We need to stay hunkered down and keep practicing social distancing so we can continue to slow the spread and flatten the curve. However, we will get through this. And we’ll get through it together. Indiana is receiving disaster recovery funds from three federal relief packages. Here’s how the state is using these funds to accelerate the Hoosier recovery:
Families First Coronavirus Response Act:
Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
The governor also announced today the creation of Indiana’s Economic Relief & Recovery team to administer these federal recovery programs. This team will work hard to plan, administer and account for all Indiana relief funds – making sure they’re getting to Hoosiers who need help.
Governor Holcomb is taking these actions now so we can guide Indiana’s return to full economic activity in a safe way, preparing to adapt operations in a post-COVID-19 Indiana.
Fitting for this Easter weekend, the governor said “The world will wake up again. We will rise again.” And we’re well on our way.
