John, anti-LGBTQ activists want you to believe they're leading a grassroots movement. They want people to think they're the ones that are standing up for kids - and that they have a majority of support from Americans.
But they're not telling the whole truth. Reporting by the Associated Press , Vice and more show that the many anti-LGBTQ bills are spread by just a handful of extremist groups . They feed these bills to select lawmakers, copy and pasting the bill's language across state lines. They give lawmakers false stories and fake testimonies about the "dangers" accepting of LGBTQ+ people and vilifying trans people. Then, they turn around to say they're a national movement, when the truth is the complete opposite!
These groups know the majority of Americans don't buy into their nonsense. We see the rejection of their hatred every election cycle, when more and more LGBTQ+ people win their campaigns.
