Hello and welcome to CAP Update.
With the country in ‘Lockdown’, we’re warning gambling advertisers to take particular care when preparing ads. The covid-19 crisis is causing many people to feel anxious and uncertain, gambling advertising must not exploit peoples’ vulnerabilities. To that end, we’re also encouraging consumers to use the ASA’s ‘Quick Reports’ process to alert us to any examples of particularly irresponsible gambling marketing to us to take swift action.

We've published a warning to gambling advertisers that the ASA will be taking a tough line on any who seek to use the current Covid-19 crisis to their advantage. But though the piece published today is mainly aimed at gambling operators and other advertising agencies working in that sector, the message is appropriate for all advertisers during these trying times.
