Dear John,

As I’ve shared with you, our Annual Dinner on April 26th was one of the best we’ve ever had.

Watch this quick “sizzle” to see what I mean!

Thanks to the hilarious and moving keynote from

The

Babylon Bee

CEO Seth Dillon, I have never laughed more, and there were also poignant moments that reinforced the gravity of what we do in times like these. As I reflect on the evening, I have a couple praises and one request…

First, our dinner was one of our biggest turnouts ever. Over 800 like-minded Minnesotans were in the room – the most we’ve had in a decade!

Second, generous donors offered a

$200,000 matching challenge

for dinner attendees, and the attendees rose to that challenge, contributing roughly $150,000!

Even better, the match-funders have agreed to

extend the match deadline to May 31st at 11:59 p.m.

, to include those unable to donate that night and all those reading this recap.

Now for the request:

will you prayerfully consider a gift of

$25, $50, $100 or even more,

to help us raise the remaining $50,000?

Click the “Give Now” button below and be sure to make your gift by the end of the day on Friday, May 31st.

Give Now (MFI)

For anyone who is able to give a gift of $100.00 or more, we have special permission to

share the recording of the event

… but only through the match deadline of May 31st at 11:59 p.m. After that, we’re contractually obligated to take it down. When you contribute you’ll be prompted to provide your email address, and we’ll then send you a private link to view the recording as our special thank you for helping us meet this match!

So what inspired over 800 Minnesotans just like you to gather in Bloomington on the 26th? Certainly Seth Dillon was a huge draw because he and his team at

The Babylon Bee

are drawing attention to the most pressing – and most absurd – issues of our day, but doing it with laughter and joy.

That resonates with us deeply. We have serious work to do, but we don’t take ourselves or our battles too seriously. We hold tightly to joy, learning to laugh in the face of adversity, because we have a hope that won’t disappoint us, no matter the ups and downs of each day and each session.

Part of our work is informing concerned citizens like you about the issues being debated in Saint Paul, many of which are deeply harmful to families. These issues too often fly under the radar because a partisan press takes a nothing-to-see-here approach to legislation that most Minnesotans would find abhorrent.

Seth talked about the mission of

The Babylon Bee

in a similar way. Their primary tool is satire – exaggerating reality in a way that highlights its absurdity. Or, as Seth put it,

“exposing the foolishness for what it is.”

They are using humor to shine a light on very dark things.

They do that so well on a national scale. We’re focused on Minnesota, and there’s no shortage of material here. Whether it’s abortion anywhere, for any reason, up until birth, forcing a radical gender ideology on primary school children against the wishes of their parents or without their knowledge, or stripping religious liberty protections from Minnesota statutes, foolishness abounds in Saint Paul right now.

That’s why this ministry is so important and why my team and I have dedicated ourselves to this fight. While we would prefer to have God-fearing men and women at the helm of our state – and we hope to have far more of them after this Fall’s elections –

our work is most critical in times like these, when the cards are stacked against the values you and I hold dear.

Our advocacy, education, communication, and legal efforts are critically needed, to prevent a radical left that fears no accountability from voters from taking us in a direction that the vast majority of Minnesotans do not want.

Polls have proven that voters see their positions as extreme, and it’s up to us to spread the word and rally those who oppose this radical agenda.

Will you join with us to spread the word about this fight for our values? A gift of

$25, $50, $100, or even more, will be matched, dollar for dollar, through May 31st.

I left the dinner feeling more convinced than ever about the importance of this ministry: shining the light of God’s Word into dark places, standing firm in the face of opposition, and encouraging fellow Christ-followers like you to practice citizenship worthy of the gospel. I hope you were and are similarly inspired to join with us!

Perhaps the best way for you to do that is by financially supporting this ministry. As I said at the event, we don’t want your tithe. That’s for the church that you attend. We would be grateful for your offerings though – the giving you do above and beyond what you give to your local community of believers.

Your support will help us add to our committed staff, expand our capacity to respond to the growing number of legal and legislative threats in Minnesota, and build the essential war chest we’ll need to help win a pro-life, pro-family majority in the Minnesota House this Fall.

If you believe in this ministry and share those goals,

please prayerfully consider a gift of $50, $100, $200 or even more, as the Lord leads

$50, $100, $200 or even more, as the Lord leads

.

And remember,

if you make your gift by Friday, May 31st, it will be doubled, thanks to our Annual Dinner Matching Challenge.

On top of that,

as a thank you for

your gift of $100.00 or more

, we will share a private link to the recording of last night’s Annual Dinner

, so you can experience the laughter and inspiration of Seth Dillon’s keynote, and all the other highlights of the evening!

We have $50,000 to go to meet the goal amount, and I’m confident the Lord can get us to that number through faithful partners like you. Thank you and God bless you!
