On Mother’s Day, we celebrate all of the women whose care and support help to shape us. This Mother’s Day, we invite you to make a gift to Hunger Free America in honor of the special women in your life. ([link removed]) Our Honoring Mothers Giving Campaign focuses on the unique role mothers play in ensuring that families are well fed.

According to the USDA, female headed households with children nationwide had a food insecurity rate of 33.1% in 2022, nearly triple the overall rate of 12.8%. Of the 15 thousand calls we received through our national hunger hotline in 2023, 77% were from women.
