According to the USDA, female headed households with children nationwide had a food insecurity rate of 33.1% in 2022, nearly triple the overall rate of 12.8%. Of the 15 thousand calls we received through our national hunger hotline in 2023, 77% were from women.
At Hunger Free America, our goal is nothing short of ending domestic hunger. To that end, we work tirelessly to ensure all Americans have enough to eat every day. In fact, 86 cents of every dollar donated to HFA goes directly to our anti-hunger work.
