Fellow Conservative,
This week was a testament to the power and strength of grassroots activism. When you make your voice heard, Congress listens. This week was a win for election integrity and equal representation in the United States. Here is how you won:
The House Stands Up for American Citizens
In 2010, Democrats removed the citizenship question from the census, making it impossible to distinguish between American citizens and non-citizens. The results of the census are used to draw congressional districts, which in turn shape how many votes states are alloted in the Electoral College.
Failing to distinguish between citizens and non-citizens fundamentally distorts representation because the census will not be based on the number of Americans in an area, but on the number of people regardless of their citizenship status.
To fix this, Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Reps. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.) and Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) introduced The Equal Representation Act (S. 3659 / H.R. 7109), which would add a citizenship question to the census and prohibit non-citizens from being counted. Heritage Action marked the cosponsorship and subsequent vote on this bill as a Key Vote <[link removed]> that affects members’ scores on our legislative scorecard.

Since January, the grassroots have been calling and emailing Congress to pass this bill. Each time a wave of support for this bill flooded the halls of Congress, more and more representatives added their names as cosponsors of this bill.
When it became clear that the momentum was too strong to stop, the House voted on the bill and passed it 206-202!
This vote also showed the Left’s true colors. Every Democrat voted against Americans having the representation they are due and instead voted in favor of giving illegal aliens representation in the American government. Their agenda would fundamentally rewrite the foundation of our Republic – one citizen, one vote.
But thanks to your efforts, we have a chance to stop them. The Senate must now take up this bill and pass it.

The Other Piece of the Puzzle
While the Equal Representation Act addresses representation, the other piece of the puzzle to ensuring a properly representative Republic is to address election integrity. Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) have introduced H.R. 8281 <[link removed]>/ S. 4292 <[link removed]>, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act), which would ensure states require proof of citizenship before allowing individuals to vote.
While citizenship is already required to vote, many states have little to no requirements for proving citizenship at the polls. Many states accept drivers’ licenses as proof of citizenship, but do not require proof of citizenship to acquire that drivers’ license. This makes it impossible to tell who is really eligible to vote in our elections and how many individuals are voting illegally.
Since Biden’s inauguration more than 10 million illegal aliens have entered our country. With so many loopholes, it creates abundant opportunities for non-citizens to vote in our elections.
The SAVE Act would end these loopholes and bring greater integrity to our elections.
>>>CALL Congress and tell them to support the SAVE Act (H.R. 8281 / S. 4292).
State Update
South Carolina
South Carolina’s General Assembly concluded its legislative session with a major win for children in the Palmetto State. The General Assembly passed H. 4624 - which will prohibit experimental sex-denying procedures that can inflict irreversible damage on children.
The final vote in South Carolina is part of a wave of similar provisions passing across the country and around the world as parents wake up to the undeniable dangers <[link removed]> of sex-denying drugs and surgeries. Over twenty states have now enacted similar protections for children.
The United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS) also announced <[link removed]> this year that it will no longer prescribe puberty blockers to minors due to a lack of evidence that they help. This is an important rebuke to lobbies like the American Academy of Pediatrics and Endocrine Society, which continue to push these harmful interventions for kids, despite the mounting evidence against them.
These protections for children from harmful, irreversible procedures enjoy broad support from the public. More than 65% of Americans oppose access to puberty blockers for children. Heritage Action is proud to work alongside so many of you to make these policies a reality, protecting children across the country.

Georgia
The Peach State has taken action to protect Georgia’s investments by passing HB 481, a bill that prohibits asset managers from making investments based on the ESG (environmental, social, governance) agenda.
Georgia State Director James Quarles wrote in a press release saying:
“ESG investing fails hardworking Georgians by prioritizing political activism at the expense of financial responsibility. By passing and signing HB 481 into law, the Georgia General Assembly and Governor Kemp are ensuring non-political financial management that puts the interests of Georgians ahead of progressive politicking.”
Georgia now adds its name to a list of over 15 states that have prioritized the financial wellbeing of their citizens over the Left’s political agenda.
