says Libia, a Mercy Corps-trained farmer, nurse, and mother of three.

Despite her father’s expectations, Libia started coffee farming at the age
of 17 to save money for college. While working, she studied and paid for
college out of pocket to earn her nursing degree. Throughout her 15-year
career as a nurse, she earned enough money to buy her own land and provide
for herself, her family, and her community.
