Dear friend,

Women everywhere who care for children and families are the backbone of thriving and prospering communities. Their wealth of knowledge, resilience, and selfless love make a difference in the lives of children and families around them.

"We want women to be empowered and love themselves and think about the future, and that helps their daughters, and that helps the whole family," says Libia, a Mercy Corps-trained farmer, nurse, and mother of three.

Despite her father’s expectations, Libia started coffee farming at the age of 17 to save money for college. While working, she studied and paid for college out of pocket to earn her nursing degree. Throughout her 15-year career as a nurse, she earned enough money to buy her own land and provide for herself, her family, and her community.

As Mother’s Day approaches, you can show your appreciation to someone special in your life while supporting a mother elsewhere in the world. With a contribution today, you can send a card to someone special and help women and families around the world create pathways to new opportunities and a brighter future. Send a Mother’s Day card.

This is just one extraordinary example of the many hard-working, tireless women around the world creating opportunities for a better future for their children and communities.

By making a contribution today and sending a Mother’s Day card, you can let someone special in your life know you care while supporting beloved mothers around the world. Send a Mother’s Day card today!

Thank you,

The Mercy Corps team
