The Biden Administration Rolls Out Title IX Rules: The Biden administration released final Title IX regulations last Friday that seek to redefine “sex” in favor of “gender identity,” eviscerate due process rights, and curtail freedom of speech. Among the 1,577 pages of regulations under the powerful Title IX law—which governs all educational institutions that accept federal funds, from kindergarten through university—are provisions that endanger women's opportunities, privacy, and safety.
* First, the regulations claim that it "harms" and discriminates against students to treat them as their biological sex, which gives males identifying as women the "right" to invade women's bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports rosters.
* Second, the regulations strip basic due process protections for students accused of sexual misconduct—rights that federal courts have upheld hundreds of times.
* Third, the regulations provide a vague definition of "harassment" that eats into First Amendment-protected speech, including the right to use biologically accurate pronouns for fellow students.

Title IX is a statute intended to protect women's educational opportunities, and unelected bureaucrats have now turned it into a weapon against women's rights, and additionally to defy Supreme Court precedent when it comes to due process and free speech. Independent Women's Law Center is joining other organizations in suing the Biden administration for this unconstitutional overreach that impacts millions of girls and women across the country. Today, as we approach the 52nd anniversary of the landmark anti-discrimination law, women’s athletic opportunities are under attack. Biden's Omnibus Title IX Rule goes into effect August 1 and will require schools to allow trans athletes to compete on teams that align with their gender identity, unless the school can demonstrate that allowing males who identify as women onto women’s teams would undermine "fairness in competition" or "safety." Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlan write in OutKick, "What about fairness of opportunity? What could possibly be more unfair than telling a female athlete that she did not make the team because the team rostered a male body?" Read More ([link removed])

** NCAA Continues to Fail Female Athletes ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
To date, males have stolen over 943 ([link removed]) trophies, medals, and titles from women and girls across 458 different competitions and over 31 different sports. More than 660 female athletes have been displaced by males in women’s sporting events and other types of competitions expressly for women. Urging action from the NCAA, the “Our Bodies, Our Sports” coalition of women’s advocacy organizations from across the political spectrum is calling on current and former NCAA female athletes to speak up. “The Biden Admin’s 1577-page Title IX rule is out, and sure enough, they turned the historic rule into a demand that women give up their spaces and privacy to accommodate men. And yes, that will absolutely affect sports." said Independent Women's Law Center Director May Mailman.

Yet, female athletes aren’t the only ones in danger. Parents need to pay attention to this issue because this new Title IX frames gender ideology as an anti-discrimination issue and, as IWF Fellow Kaylee McGhee White explained recently, that means, “…schools won’t have to seek parental permission for children to participate in lessons on choosing and changing one’s sex. Indeed, schools will very likely use Title IX’s anti-discrimination mandate to justify denying parental opt-outs from these controversial lessons.” Access Resource Center ([link removed])

** Two Truths and a Lie: Climate Change ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

During April—which is officially Earth Month and includes Earth Day celebrated on the 22nd—the rhetoric surrounding the state of our climate can swing dramatically. Some “green” policies come with significant consequences like high-cost energy or power grids that don’t reliably work; and, further, fail to recognize how to seriously and sustainably build a clean energy future.

Can you spot the lie?

A. Banning or severely limiting fossil fuels will not harm the economy or workers.
B. Even if the United States cuts emissions to zero, the world’s biggest emitters (China and India) have not cut back emissions.
C. Natural disasters and extreme weather have not become more prevalent due to climate change.

The United States is getting older. With Baby Boomers entering retirement, the number of Americans age 65 and older is increasing astronomically.
