Expressions Art Exhibition

Featuring Artists with Disabilities 

The 13th Annual Expressions Art Exhibition showcases artists with disabilities, celebrating their abilities and unique talents. Expressions strives to promote artists with disabilities by featuring their work in professionally organized art exhibitions and offering innovative educational and networking workshops that connect them to the broad regional creative community.

Our Expressions Exhibition is on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, from 4-7 pm, at The Whole Person: 3710 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64111

We will be featuring a variety of pieces created by artists with disabilities including paintings, musical performances, sculptures, and more!

Join us for a night of art, socializing, refreshments, a silent auction, raffles, and much more!
We can’t wait to show you the talent our selected artists will be presenting.

How were artists selected?

Artists were chosen by a volunteer committee of arts professionals, who will look for artistic merit and thoughtful responses to questions about their work.

All artists with disabilities (physical, cognitive, mental health, or other) in the Greater Kansas City area were invited to submit their work for consideration. Both visual artists (2D and 3D) and performing artists (dancers, musicians, actors, and spoken word artists) were encouraged to apply.

It's hard to find a meeting date an time that works for everyone. If you cannot join the Listening Session, you are welcome to provide feedback by emailing [email protected] or [email protected]. 

The listening session is supported by the Link Center, a Project of National Significance (PNS) funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) to help make mental health treatment and supports more available to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), brain injury and other disabilities.  The Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has joined with ACL on this project to support The Link Center to host this critical policy academy to help states make sure that crisis prevention and response are accessible to all children and adults.
