We had a great weekend in Miami Beach

Dear John,
Last weekend, I was excited to join thousands of residents from across Miami-Dade at Miami Beach’s Pride celebration. Every moment at #MiamiBeachPride was a celebration of love and unity, and a powerful reminder that together we can create a world where everyone feels accepted and valued.
Pride is also a reminder that our community’s diversity is its strength. And it’s a reminder that in order to ensure that Miami-Dade remains a welcoming, inclusive community for all, we need to elect pro-equality leaders at all levels of government.
As your State Senator, I was proud to fight back against attacks on the LGBTQ community in Tallahassee. I’ll do the same as your Clerk of the Court and Comptroller.

As the official charged with overseeing numerous government services — including the issuing of marriage licenses — Miami-Dade’s Clerk and Comptroller plays an active role in ensuring our government is inclusive and welcoming to all residents.
As a proud ally and longtime advocate for LGBTQ equality — and all Miami-Dade residents — I’m committed to delivering on that promise as your Clerk and Comptroller.
Thank you for joining me in celebrating Pride and building a welcoming and inclusive future for all residents. As I said in the parade, in Florida, we should be able to say Gay!
Warmly,
Annette
