The wave of attacks on reproductive rights in the last two years especially has caused so much damage, and harmed so many people. Abortion bans are making health care inequities much worse -- especially in states where access to care is the most limited.

That's why Planned Parenthood is highlighting the work of Black Mamas Matter Alliance, a national network of Black women-led organizations leading the way to expand access to care before, during, and after pregnancy.

This week is Black Maternal Health Week, an observance about awareness, activism, and community-building aimed at amplifying the voices of Black Mamas and centering the values and traditions of the reproductive and birth justice movements. Now is the perfect time to get informed about the barriers to care Black pregnant people face and get engaged to ensure everyone can get high-quality care.
