PLANNED PARENTHOOD
The wave of attacks on reproductive rights in the last two years especially has caused so much damage, and harmed so many people. Abortion bans are making health care inequities much worse — especially in states where access to care is the most limited.

That's why Planned Parenthood is highlighting the work of Black Mamas Matter Alliance, a national network of Black women-led organizations leading the way to expand access to care before, during, and after pregnancy.

Today marks the last day of Black Maternal Health Week, an observance about awareness, activism, and community-building aimed at amplifying the voices of Black Mamas and centering the values and traditions of the reproductive and birth justice movements. Now is the perfect time to get informed about the barriers to care Black pregnant people face and get engaged to ensure everyone can get high-quality care. Find out more and get involved here.

The theme for this year's Black Maternal Health Week centers the harm of abortion bans — Our Bodies STILL Belong to Us: Reproductive Justice NOW. Here's what Black Mamas Matter Alliance says:

The time is NOW to demand comprehensive insurance for maternal, sexual, and reproductive health; improve access to care; guide healthcare entities on equitable, quality care; and fund research prioritizing ALL Black women, Black Mamas and Black Birthing People.
