Dear Friend,
As National Organizing Director of TimeDone, I hear stories from our members every day about how they are using their experiences with the justice system to make real change.
Despite the fact that people with old arrest and conviction records face over 40,000 legal barriers, TimeDone members are showing up in communities across the county to lead a new safety movement - one that believes in second chances, healing and prevention over prisons and punishment.
“I work as a re-entry coordinator and substance abuse counselor. I help people leaving prison find the right treatment and resources to overcome substance abuse addiction and recidivism.”
- TimeDone member, Ohio
“Now I am a minister, work at a shelter, deliver food at night, and I volunteer in prisons to help people get sober and heal.”
- TimeDone member, Pennsylvania
“Today, I focus on organizing others who are facing the same barriers I have in the hopes that I can help them find hope and healing”
- TimeDone member, California
TimeDone leaders are working everyday to change laws, connect members with resources like job training and education, challenge the stigma faced by people with old records, and end post-conviction poverty. But we can’t change these outdated systems without your support and allyship.
Will you stand with TimeDone leaders and join the fight with a donation today?
April is Second Chances month, and now until April 30 your gift will be DOUBLED. Because when we give people with old records second chances, we all win.
