Local Spotlight: Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas Achieves Record Month in Rewards
Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas proudly announces a historic achievement in monthly cash rewards. In February, a remarkable 17 rewards were approved, totaling an impressive $10,150. As of March 20, 2024, an additional 21 rewards will be presented to the board of directors, requesting $8,000.
Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas, originally Beaumont Crime Stoppers established in November 1981, has evolved to encompass Jefferson, Hardin, Orange counties, and, as of June 2023, Jasper County. At the core of the program is the commitment to maintaining the anonymity of the individuals providing tips. These tips cover a wide range of activities, including reporting criminal acts, identifying wanted fugitives, highlighting school policy violations, and more. In 2022, the program received 1,663 tips, and in 2023, that number increased to a total of 2,094.
