Dear Greens and Green supporters,



The results are in! Dr. Jill Stein received the majority of votes at the Green Party of New York convention. Jill will be the presidential candidate on our state party petition and will have 12 of GPNY’s 13 delegates at the national presidential nominating convention this summer.



Jasmine Sherman was awarded one delegate and Jorge Zavala did not reach the threshold to receive any delegates from New York.



The momentum to gather 45,000 valid signatures started building at the convention on Saturday, March 24, with just those in attendance collectively pledging to gather over 3000 signatures and donated $1500.00 towards our ballot access fund.



With petitioning kicking off on April 16, and lasting for only six weeks, we need to increase those pledges tenfold to overcome  one of the most restrictive ballot access laws in the country. GPNY is also currently hiring petition circulators who can put in 10-20 hours per week gathering signatures, because it is that important to get the Green Party candidate on the ballot despite the undemocratic theft of our hard won ballot line by former Gov. Cuomo and the state legislature.

GPNY is partnering with the Stein campaign, who will be putting paid petition circulators on the ground for the 42 day collection period because New York is that important – it has historically been one of the most important states for independent parties to show their strength.



Now, more than ever, we offer the antidote to so much of the world’s wrongs –  only the Green Party can offer voters the opportunity to vote for a candidate who is anti-genocide, anti-imperialist, pro-peace, pro-climate action and pro-worker.
