This is The Drug Report’s ([link removed]) Friday Fact report - 44.38% of Past-Year Marijuana Users Aged 12-17 in 2022 Met the Criteria for Cannabis Use Disorder

The percentage of past-year marijuana users between the ages of 12 and 17 that had cannabis use disorder in 2022 was calculated using the data on Table 1.2A ([link removed]) and Table 5.1A ([link removed]) from the 2022 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) ([link removed]) .

* Marijuana:
+ Past-Year Users with Cannabis Use Disorder: 1,308,000.
+ Past-Year Marijuana Users: 2,947,000 Users.
+ The Cannabis Use Disorder rate was 44.38%.

The statistics are clear: more teenagers are using marijuana, and a concerning proportion of them are developing cannabis use disorder. This trend will likely worsen as the marijuana industry produces ever-stronger products that appeal to minors.
