Many people don't know that this time of year is
known as kitten season, the season when cats are most likely to have
litters of kittens. Well-meaning people often bring these kittens to
shelters, separating them from their mothers in the process. But the
reality is too many shelters lack the programs to provide the
round-the-clock care young kittens need. Kittens are killed instead.

Alongside humane education about lifesaving kitten
programs, the best way to make a difference right now is to Beat the
Heat by spaying and neutering cats, including community cats through
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs. And because cats as young as 4
months old can go into heat, we must act NOW to save cats' lives
in the coming months.

Alley Cat Allies is leading the charge to protect cats
and kittens through programs like our Feline Frenzy®, which provides
critical support for spay and neuter, TNR, educational resources, and
more for targeted communities. Feline Frenzy events can reach hundreds
of cats in a matter of days-which makes an incredible
difference!
