Well-meaning people often bring these kittens to shelters, separating them from their mothers in the process. But the reality is too many shelters lack the programs to provide the round-the-clock care young kittens need. Kittens are killed instead.
Alongside humane education about lifesaving kitten programs, the best way to make a difference right now is to Beat the Heat by spaying and neutering cats, including community cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs. And because cats as young as 4 months old can go into heat, we must act NOW to save cats’ lives in the coming months.
