JOHN,

Like something out of a sci-fi movie, artificial intelligence (AI) is
expanding rapidly
<[link removed]>
into nearly every industry.

Sure, automation makes our jobs easier and frees us from daily nitty-gritty
tasks. But what happens if this whole thing spirals out of control? Some claim
it couldeliminate jobs
<[link removed]>
and lead to economic ornational security
<[link removed]> risks.

Many states have already passed laws
<[link removed]>
limiting the use of AI in areas like police investigations and hiring, but
Congress islate to the game
<[link removed]>
on regulation.

As we scramble to play catch-up, it appears we’re turning to the Korean War era
Defense Production Act
<[link removed]> to
rein this in. But how in the world do we expect legislation from the1950s
<[link removed]>
to steer technology that’s changing daily?

My main concern is that we’ll end up regulating the heck out of AI in another
classic case of federal overreach.

We're trying to get something done on this front, but I want to know your
thoughts. Are you worried about AI or do you support it?
<[link removed]>

I WORRY ABOUT AI
<[link removed]>
I SUPPORT AI
<[link removed]>

Your feedback is always top of mind when I’m in Washington, which is why your
opinion matters to me. Thanks for taking the time!

Sincerely,

<[link removed]>

Tim Burchett
