organization of IDF veterans who speak out against excessive force and
oppose permanent military occupation.

As Avner said in his recent article, “An investigation of prior campaigns
in Gaza reveals the inadequacy of Israeli targeting guidelines, which do
not truly curb civilian casualties... In the latest round of fighting in
Gaza, Israel has failed to follow even those restrictions – leading to
untold devastation and making a resolution to the conflict even harder to
reach.”

“Past wars help pierce the fog of the present one,” he wrote, sharing the
in-depth findings and failings that Breaking the Silence has uncovered
through years of gathering, investigating and sharing soldiers’
testimonies from previous Gaza campaigns.

and help us understand what we’re seeing in the West Bank. Amid the
ongoing war in Gaza and since October 7, the already volatile situation in
the West Bank has deteriorated with increasing settler violence, forced
displacement and ongoing settlement expansion.
